Kay Horn Honored

Kay Horn, president of Fulton County Retired Teachers was honored at the 44th Annual Representative Assembly in Indianapolis, In on May 20, 2009 as one of 8 Top Volunteers for Indiana. Kay volunteered 778 hours. She is an active participant in Girl Scouts. She was a Board Member for the Tribal Trails Council and helped with the realignment when they joined Northern Indiana-Michiana in October, 2008. She also works with young people in 4-H, reads to elementary students at Caston with Partners in Education, helped at the Career Fair for the Leadership Academy. She helped at middle school during ISTEP testing. At the high school she listened to presentations by New Tech High students as they completed their projects. Kay writes a monthly newsletter for Riverview Community Church and is president of the Friendship Quilter's Guild of Plymouth, In. The group has made quilts and donated them to Hemminger House, which is a home for women of domestic violence. Kay is always willing to help her neighbors, or church members when there is a need. She has been a positive influence with both youth and adults. ** (This is what the booklet had that was handed out to the attendees at Rep. Assembly)

Also, I accepted a certificate from IRTA for Fulton County's RTA website in Recognition for Outstanding Performance in Public Relations During 2008.
